ENERGY SURCHARGE
 EUROPE > ALICANTE AND BARCELONA , SPAIN

Dear Customer:
The price of oil in Europe, and for global hydrocarbon energy in general, has increased to unprecedented levels. The rise in energy prices has had a significant impact on the production costs of our Spanish plants in Alicante and Rubí (Barcelona). As a result, effective July 15, 2008, we have no choice but to implement an energy surcharge which will appear as a separate line item on your invoice.
We adjust the surcharge monthly based on the Brent price. The Energy Surcharge is calculated on the month proceeding the month of implementation, based on the average price of the last 6 months converted into EUR. (The calculation tables are attached)
The Energy Surcharge for November 2008 is based on the Apr – Sept 2008 price of 78 €/bbl for the Brent; as such, it will be as follow:
- Perlite grades................................................................ 9,50 €/ton
- Diatomaceous Earth grades............................................ 11,00 €/ton
- Alumino-Silcate grades.................................................... 9,50 €/ton
Any change in the surcharge becomes effective the 26th day of each month.
