World Minerals To Increase Prices on Diatomaceous Earth & Perlite Products in Europe

World Minerals will increase Diatomaceous Earth and Perlite prices, for its European Activities effective 1st January 2011, or as current price agreements expire.

• European produced Diatomaceous Earth products – 4 -8 %
• USA and Mexican produced Diatomaceous Earth products – 6-12%
• Perlite based products – 2-6%

During the course of 2010 World Minerals have seen significant increases in energy, chemicals, packaging and transportation costs, this coupled with a shift in the global demand for the products, due to the economic situation in 2009, have led to significant changes in costs. In order to ensure sustainability of supply it is necessary to pass on these costs. Exchange rate impacts have, in turn, made this increase more significant for imported products.

Each customer will be duly notified on a case by case basis of such increase in due course.
